Customize your vessel sync
Tuesday, 13 December 2011 00:00

Synchronizing data can be so easy! MESPAS monitors the entire sync process and ensures the safe data transfer between office and vessel. NEW: You can customize the process according to your individual preferences. In doing so, you are free to adjust sync settings for individual vessels or for various vessel types (e.g. bulkers and others), and to automate the process. As in the past, we continue to synchronize only data that has changed (very small data packages).

As soon as the data is synchronized, it is ready - without any human intervention - for reporting or any other form of data processing. It’s part of our cloud computing-approach in doing business. Learn more about our sync process - and the MESPAS Cloud Advantage

Cloud Computing can change your business
Tuesday, 25 October 2011 00:00

When talking about cloud computing, people seem to look at one question only. How can the cloud absorb what we're already doing, but cheaper? This question has been the topic of many papers, blogs and conferences. The more important question, however, was first posed by American thinker and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Nicholas G. Carr, back in 2008: What does the cloud allow us to do that we couldn't do before? Carr compares the cloud age to the early times of electric grids, when companies were able to stop generating their own power with steam engines and dynamos. This not only changed the way businesses operated, it also set off a chain reaction of transformations that brought the modern world into existence.

According to Carr, a similar revolution is under way in terms of cloud computing. Today, productivity gains due to traditional IT and licensed software are limited. – A new operating system or a new PC can’t significantly improve processes or speed up daily work.

Cloud computing, on the other hand, can lead to productivity gains. It is freeing up (financial and human) resources, it increases efficiency and drives innovation. Cloud computing allows us to acquire computing services in a simple, flexible manner without having to fully grasp and understand the underlying technology. Building on cloud solutions may soon give you back the opportunity to invest the finite amount of money, time and effort you have available in strategic projects. – What are yours?
