MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) is a regulation of the European Union to establish a greenhouse gas emissions inventory. Large ships (>5,000 gross tonnage) using EU ports are required to report their verified annual emissions and other relevant information to the European Commission. The data needed for MRV has to be entered into the noon report and some specific forms of the form manager.

DCS (Data Collection System) is a regulation by IMO (International Maritime Organisation) to establish a greenhouse gas emissions inventory. Large ships (>5,000 gross tonnage) operating worldwide are required to report their verified annual emissions  and other relevant information to the flag state. The data needed for DCS has to be entered into the noon report and some specific forms of the form manager.

The data needed for MRV and DCS can be partly taken from the Noon Report and from forms that also have to be filled on the vessel.

The definition of forms and Noon Report fields that have to be filled is done in the office.

The collection of data in the Noon Report and in the Form Manager is done on the vessel. It is recommended to state in the crews arrival and departure checklists the instruction to fill in the respective forms.

The annual reports that have to be sent for each vessel to Commission and Flag State can be created, edited and managed on www.analytics.mespas.com .

Each annual emission report has to be verified by an accredited shipping verifier which is also done directly on www.analytics.mespas.com or by sending a log abstract vom www.analytics.mespas.com .

Voyages over the turn of the year will be reported with the new year.
