TMSA II stands for "Tanker management & self assessment II". It is a collection of questions about the way your company operates its fleet's vessels.

All answers to these questions are summarized in several scores which reveal the quality of your company's vessel management.

Questions are organized in a tree ball_A_t containing 13 key elements, corresponding sub elements and 4 stages each.
 
- Stage 1 = ISM mandatory compliance
- Stages 2 and 3 = further improvements
- Stage 4 = "the best you can be".

Questions ball_B_t are assigned to stages.

Stage completion depends on successful completion of all subordinate stages.

Scores are calculated on sub element levels and category levels.

Questions are based on predefined KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and best practices.

Questions can be linked to documents proving the implementation of best practices. (not mandatory)

Answers to questions can have the states "achieved" (= 1 point) or "not achieved" (= 0 points). (not mandatory)

Answers to questions can be commented. (not mandatory)

All answers to a question are kept in a history about
 
- the answer's validity period,
- the answer's state,
- the answer's comment and
- the answer's editor.

Answer states are summarized as follows:

Color code of a key element's, sub element's or stage's folder (in TMSA II tree)

Gray

Blue

Green

Red

Color code meaning

The key element, sub element or stage contains unanswered questions.

All questions for a key element, sub element or stage are answered, but some have state "Not achieved".

All questions for a key element, sub element or stage are answered and all have state "Achieved".

All questions for a key element, sub element or stage are answered and all have state "Not achieved".
