Understand part management

The Part management in MESPAS TSM is  used to control rotating parts on the engines such as cylinder liners or pistons. the Part management is controlled and managed by vessel users. The Part management in the Office Client of  MESPAS TSM is a read only version.

Explanation: "Part" is used as a generic expression. An instance of a part is specific and has its own unique identifier (number). E.g. an engine uses cylinder liners (part). If six cylinder liners are used in the engine, six instances of cylinder liner are used.

 

You add instances of a part to be available on the vessel's part management spare parts list for replacement of corresponding instances of parts in use/built in. You can monitor all instances available for a part.

An instance of a part in use/built in can be replaced with a corresponding instancereplaced with a corresponding instance on stock.

An instance of a part in the spare parts list can be
- used for replacing a corresponding instance in use/built in.
- scrapped or deleted if it cannot/must not be used anymore.
 

warning

If you scrap an instance of a part in the spare parts list, then all information about this instance remains in the system and the instance is still visible in the corresponding part list.

If you scrap an instance, you cannot unscrap/reactivate that instance anymore.
 

If you delete an instance of a part in the spare parts list, then all information about this instance is deleted in the system.

If you delete an instance, you cannot undelete/reactivate that instance anymore.
